"Piney Point Memories"
"We were surrounded by loving adults who seemed to take pleasure in our delight. We were untouched, in those days, by ugliness. It's almost impossible, in today's world, to imagine that such a time really existed. It's difficult to describe it without sounding sentimental and false."
~Jean Tolson Waikart~
I loved this sweet lady and sat with her many evenings as she wrote this book. She would read it to me and ask: "are you sure anyone would want to read my book"? She was one of the sweetest ladies I've ever known and I believe it was her loving family and childhood that made her so. This is a picture of her retirement home (The Holly House) was an original cottage and she added the two story cottage to the right of it. It suffered extensive damage during hurricane Isabel. The extra is the cover of her book. Those were the days I wish I had not missed.
