Early blossom in the estate garden. I was taking out the compost.
I had a long talk with daughter. She went to a local history society meeting and was enthused. Apparently her part of London, South Norwood, was once known as one of the healthiest places to live in the UK. Conan Doyle was one of many who moved there for the fresh breezes.
I told her about the book I just finished, which was recommended by my sister Robbie, about British girls’ boarding schools. ‘Terms and Conditions’ by Ysenda Maxtone Graham. It was surprisingly interesting.
