Belvoir Castle
Today we made our way to Norfolk, a drive of over four and a half hours. We started out in torrential rain and very high winds. It was hideous to drive in. However, after about an hour we’d left the motorways behind and begun the journey cross country on the A roads. The rain subsided and by lunchtime there was sunshine and blue sky. We had lunch in a pub called the Chequers Inn at Woolsthorpe near Belvoir Castle. The castle itself was closed but we could just about see it from the car park of the pub. Just a quick iPhone shot so not great, but it’s all I’ve got today.
We arrived at HPB Barnham Broom a little after 4pm and we’re the last of our group to arrive. We are a party of 6 in two properties next door to each other. The 4 men will spend the whole week playing board games, I will go birdwatching weather permitting and there’s a possibility that I may be joined by the other female which will be interesting to say the least. Hopefully she will decide to stay on-site for most of the days and relax in the Spa, go swimming and watch DVDs!
