This Old House...

... is a grade 1 listed building, built in the late 16th century, and was once the home of Percy, Bishop of Dromore.

The building is situated at the foot of The Cartway, a steep, narrow and winding road connecting Bridgnorth High Town with Bridgnorth Low Town.

The house has been predominantly a commercial premises, lately Bridgnorth boys club and currently a successful tea rooms and two holiday lets on the first and second floors.

It is very close to the River Severn which is currently very high, and forecast to peak this evening. Unlike Bewdley, Ironbridge and Shrewsbury, the streets and surrounding areas of Bridgnorth  have no flood defences, and are at the mercy of the River. I hope this evening does not bring the misery that other parts of the country have suffered during these extraordinary weather events and flooding.

I am planning to go back tomorrow with the Nikon as the forecast is good and there should be some interesting scenes.

I hope everyone has escaped the worst of the storms, the wind today has been ferocious. It messed with my hair.

Extra: Bishop Percy's House, River scenes, and a life size bust in the toilets, which is a bit unnerving!
