Gillian
6.6C with lots of grey cloud and light rain. Little breeze.
Seeds planted in pots for courgettes and tomatoes this morning. The courgettes will end up in big containers outside the greenhouse, on the sunny West side, when they are decent sized plants. The tomatoes are small bush ones and will go into bigger pots later and stay in the greenhouse.
It started to rain a little towards lunchtime. I hoped it would pass over. After lunch it was, if anything, heavier but Maeve the Deerhound and I went for a walk anyway. We went straight down the road to the shore today then along to the road bridge over the railway. At Westhaven we walked along by the cottages to the Fishermen's huts.
No one at the huts, and no sign of any huts in use. We pottered about and I took a shot here and a shot there. As we were walking away I saw this 'G' on a small boat called Gillian. Since I had had no success recently when I went looking for a 'G' that interested me around the Golf Hotel and the starting point for the three golf courses we have here in Carnoustie, I decided that this would be the next in the occasional alphabet series.
Neither Maeve nor I got very wet, but it is a miserable afternoon.
