Exhibition swimmer, vaudeville star, early Hollywood actress (mermaids a speciality and the first actress to appear naked), pioneer of the one-piece swimming costume, inventor of synchronised swimming and possessor of the ideal female figure, for her time.

She would’ve been in her element today. The Cooks River broke its banks, one of my colleagues had to be rescued by the SES, in this laneway two men were pumping water out of a basement carpark.
