My Favourite Place
I have a handful of places in the world that I regard as favourite places. They are not too exciting or exotic, but they are to me.
- South Queensferry - Under the Edinburgh postcode, a seaside village that Mum and Dad used to take me to when I was a kid. It was also one of my Gran's favourite places too so I am told. We got married here in 2008 and is just so tranquil. Could sit by the beach all day and watch the world go by if it wasn't so damn cold all the time!
- Beer in Devon is turning out to be a favourite place too. Very similar actually to Queensferry.
- Edinburgh - Princes Street Gardens. Looking up at the castle, perfect.
- London - two places - Embankment having a drink looking over the Thames, the Eye and Westminster and then Covent Garden for the sheer atmosphere.
- Paris - everywhere! Mainly around the tower and at the Trocadero looking over to the Tower.
Anyway, today covered a couple of those. Mum was working in Edinburgh this morning, so we agreed to meet her for lunch at Jamie's Italian. A wander through the shops; taking photos as you do and met Mum. We had a lovely lunch together and then another wander around Edinburgh for a few hours!
Homeward bound and we were greeted with a very clear evening. It looked like another good evening for a sunset, so we grabbed all of the photography kit and drove back over to Queensferry for the second day running. Managed to get some more lovely images of the bay and then had a mini lifestyle shoot - this was one of my favourite images from the shoot - not had my photo taken in yonks and then had 3 photo shoots in the same week!
