Many varieties of Snowdrop
Every year, in February half term week for Nottinghamshire, Calke Abbey puts on a display of different varieties of snowdrop, including some that are quite rare with yellow ovaries. So today is a fairly tame show of the display and as you will be able to tell, not in the sunlight.
Basil and I drove to Calke Abbey after dropping Len off at tennis. We got a buggy ride to the garden and walked back, well after the gardens and café had closed. The advantage of this was that most visitors had left and we had the grounds to ourselves. A wonderful opportunity to let Basil off his lead and romp all over the field in front of the mansion. See extra.
