Sherborne Abbey

Residential care for the elderly over the last twenty-five years has changed and these days people are living independently for many more years. Whilst that's great news for some, for those in the care business, occupancy has become quite an issue. In an effort to share our vision with others we must go out there and sell ourselves ! A humble nurse by profession this goes against the grain but it has to be done ! My trusty assistant Jane-of-the-friendly-smile came too to encourage me. We visited 5 different towns, drove at least 100 miles and were on the road for around 8 hours. We met some very interesting people, made some good contacts (may have recruited a new member of staff !) and if this doesn't produce some new residents then I give in ! We drove we parked we drove we parked we followed the sat nav we ignored the sat nav we got lost and we discovered new places. Twice we found ourselves on the right road but not necessarily going in the right direction and one road was completely closed which required a 10 mile detour ! Oh the joys of living in the rural South West !
Home now with large Gin and It in hand ! Bliss !
