Bon Accord Crescent
Our dog walk took us to Bon Accord Gardens this afternoon which is overlooked by this fine set of houses which always reminds me a bit of the new town in Edinburgh north of Princes St.
This area was designed by Archibald Simpson for the Incorporation of Tailors, and construction of the houses began in 1823. The gardens were formed on the south-west facing bank of the vale of the Howe Burn and were a major selling point of the Crescent (then known as Bon Accord Terrace).
Nowadays most of the houses are flats, offices or restaurants.
