A terrible wake up this morning. All this madness against Ukraine just because that Ukraine in 2014 showed its desire to be ideologically and economically part of Europe rather than tied to Russia. The popular movement demanded freedoms and democracy.

Therefore, Putin cannot allow Ukraine to prosper, as it could lead to similar demands in Russia. In that case, both his own position and the power of the oligarchs would be called into question.

I have also had the opportunity to have a close relationship with the Russians all my life because I have relatives there and as a nation they are anything but militant and do not deserve such a leader.

Militarily, Russia is strong, but Putin and his oligarchic group have lost the battle of ideas and must really be afraid to end up with the catastrophic acts we have seen today.
