It was a sunny but cold start to the day, with a temperature of -9 C when I got up and wind chill around -15. By the time I finished work at 2:30 it had warmed up to -2 C and very little wind, so I went for a walk.
There is a trail that I like in Lower Sackville, it's a paved trail beside a river and it is plowed in the winter. Not that that mattered today, there is no snow and very little ice left. That will change tomorrow.
I was hoping to see a wood duck or 2, they have been know to be on this river in the winter. No luck finding them, but I did see these 2 American wigeons plus a female Northern pintail and a female green winged teal hanging out with the mallards.
