Remnants from 1800s

We returned to Worcester today to look more closely at the area we drove through yesterday.  Namely Shrub Hill Station and its immediate area.  We found the beautifully restored Victorian Waiting Rooms on Platform 2 - what a joy they were and the plaque in extras tells you more about them  These are the main image.  I was also very impressed by the stylish exterior - so classy and imposing in extras - the grey building.  Also in extras you can see three shots of the former Worcester Engine Works which served for 7 years from 1864 until the GWR Engine works were moved to Swindon.  I think this is a fabulous building.  It served some time in 1882 as the venue for the Worcester exhibition of local products.  It is a Grade 2 listed building, now divided into smaller units and the exterior is rather neglected - as seen in the clock faces all showing different times.  The semaphore signals (?) are noteworthy in the final extra.  There are other things I didn't manage to find today but it was a most enjoyable trip.  I need to find more tunnels and the signal box and "the almost unique large round main aspect banjo signal". I am not sure what that is but I will go back!
