In my Mum’s possession for probably 70 years or more, and something she treasured.
Gifted to her by the parents of her life long correspondent Nannette with whom she was paired aged 16 in 1946. Today they became mine on the toss of a coin, and not actually what I would have chosen, but delighted to have them. That year, 1946, on her first trip to France travelling back with Nannette and her parents following their initial meeting in Manchester, the ship turned back due to mines being released by storms in the port of St Malo. Those waiting were told the ship was missing- Mum remembered reading about it in the Telegraph.
Thinking about those in the Ukraine today
Back blipped yesterdays post due to lack of internet in Mum’s flat
