Puncture
We did our usual Saturday morning run to the Parnell Farmer’s Market, which was very quiet today. A lot of the stall holders were absent and there weren’t a lot of people visiting.
When we arrived home we had breakfast and then hubby set off for the Maritime Museum on his bike to do his volunteer stint. A short time later I got a call from him. His bike had a puncture (the second one in a week) and he was walking it back to the bike shop near us to get it fixed. I drove down to the bike shop, picked him up and drove him in to the Museum. I had to fill up with petrol on the way home and was astounded at the cost - $111:00, the most, by a long way, that we’ve ever had to pay.
Hubby reported that the Viaduct Harbour area was completely quiet, whereas normally it’s buzzing with people. The restaurants aren’t even bothering to open because they can’t get staff and there aren’t any customers around anyway. I think everyone is actually too scared to go out where there are lots of people in case they catch Covid. However, compared to what’s happening in Ukraine, our problems are minor.
I went out mid-afternoon and delivered some leaflets, which is where I saw my blip - a sculpture at the end of an entrance path, bathed in sunlight, with some shadows for contrast.
There have been 13,606 new community cases of Covid-19 reported in New Zealand today, with 263 people in hospital.
