Col de La Croix Farm

…. and chalets reappearing out of the snow.

Two friends from Leysin, just in the next valley, had never cross country skied in our area before and were treated to perfectly groomed and empty pistes with stunning scenery (extras). We only saw 6 people, also escaping the madding crowds on the downhill ski pistes, in 3 hours. Perfect! Lunch at the top of the col in a sheltered, sunny, spot with an unexpected meeting of friends who had the same idea as us.

Now our house is really full: 5 guests downstairs, 5 friends watching the rugby, Preston has to watch too, still in his cage. I am with Nexya in the office but will pop out to see the replays of the tries … not necessary so far.

All seems so pointless when you let your mind drift to the Ukraine.
