5 Charlotte Square - Elizabeth Grant
Professor Enda Delaney gave an interesting lecture, "The Highland Lady and the Great Irish Famine" at The Open History Society. He spoke about the Irish famine from the perspective of Elizabeth Grant. She was born in 1795 at No.5 Charlotte Square, Edinburgh and married a Wicklow landowner, Colonel Henry Smith of Baltiboys. She wrote memoirs from 1840 through the Irish famine which were later published.
Today's news was full of Russia's invasion of the Ukraine which started yesterday. They are being attacked from every direction.
