Red & Green

We have this Cornus (Dogwood) bush in our garden which has lovely red stems in the winter. It gives a good bit of colour to a rather dull winter garden, despite the evergreen plants we have.
The red 'sticks' is the reason Marlane wanted it in the garden, she really likes it.
The buds have been showing for a while but with the past couple of days, which have been very mild and sunny, they have started to develop into leaves.
We did some gardening today, mostly planting things that have wintered over outside in their pots. Marlane also made a good start on her little fairy garden. I didn't blip that as she wants to do more to it. 
The twins and Julia arrive Wednesday afternoon so we must have the fairy bits and pieces in place by then!
