Strange light
It was blowing a gale on the beach - the sea was roaring - and although I had hoped for a sunset it felt too cold to wait and see if it would develop. There were no clouds to be lit up and the colour of the sky was virtually brown rather than the red I had hoped for.
I was fascinated by this group as the child was resisting and wanted to go the other way. They were walking into the wind. I was so dazzled by the sun that I think I set my camera on the wrong exposure and this was the result.
I quite liked the way the rough sand in the foreground echoed the distant waves. The restless birds high up in the far distance added to the strange atmosphere.
