I'm Worried!!!

I have walked by this nesting swan for 2 days now and not seen any sign of its mate. It troubles me I'm a bit of a worrier. Im probably wrong but do swans not stick pretty close together especially during nesting time. It also saddens me when I see one on their own because I know that they mate for life xx
