"Sunshine...

... on Leith" is the Hibernian FC anthem, and would have been appropriate today, but there wasn't much to sing about as Hibs and Celtic played out a drab 0-0 draw at Easter Road (visible in the photo). That said, the atmosphere was good, thanks the the Celtic supporters' drums, songs and chants, and the general satisfaction of the home support with a point gained against the league leaders.

I had had a fine walk from the bus to the ground, over Carlton Hill (see extra), and and an even better one after the match, when I returned via Holyrood Park. The top of Arthur's Seat was mobbed - Edinburgh was thick with French rugby fans after yesterday's game - but I soon found quiet spots of this oasis in the city centre (see extra).
