Heron and Snipe

Or 2 snipe to be precise, if you can spot them both!

I wasn't alone in going for a walk around Fowlmere today - I've never seen the carpark full before - but despite that, it felt very quiet and peaceful.

I was very glad to see the heron as it's the first time I've actually seen something other than a duck or a moorhen from one of the hides and then one of the other people in there asked if I'd managed to photograph the snipe. It turned out I had, albeit unwittingly, as I had assumed the small dark bird behind the heron was a moorhen.

A better look on the computer revealed that some of my shots had also captured a second snipe on the left hand side of the frame.

Very pleased!
