Cool In The Shade

Day old snow keeps its form in this pocket in the shade. Although still just below freezing, the sun felt warm on the back of my legs. The snow is so blue. I expect my eyes adjusted at the time, but the camera records something different. I liked all the marks on the old stumps and that one is bigger than the other. Snow cover simplifies, but it also harder to find subjects to photograph.
