#967... That's a LOT water...

On Friday lunchtime I opened the lid of this bin as I knew it needed to be washed out and I thought I'd catch some rainwater rather than use water out of the hose... I knew we'd had a lot of rain but didn't realise how much till I looked in the bin on Sunday and then again this morning... David said we'd had over 300mm on Sunday and over 850mm since Friday... We haven't had much rain today so it's given some watercourses a chance to recede but we still have some houses under water... Some suburbs have no power... Our public transport of trains, buses and ferries are suspended... Our schools were closed yesterday and this afternoon we we emailed to say the schools would be shut on Tuesday as well...
