Appearances can be deceptive
On the one hand, this is a lovely little view along the river Stour as it flows through the heart of Canterbury.
Separately, smack bang in the centre of the view is an ancient device of torture/humiliation for women who may or may not have chosen not to conform.
Alternatively, it is just a Victorian fake
