Homemade gin

I was given a gin making kit for my birthday. It doesn’t really make gin. It contains gin botanicals, a bottle to make it in and a funnel. It however does not come with any alcohol. The alcohol is vodka. The “gin” tastes quite nice but it doesn’t taste like gin.
