A Piece of Local History
For today's Mono Monday theme of "Landmark", I was severely tempted to blip my favorite local bridge practically across the street from my house again, but then I thought of this beautiful building just down the street, so I was able to resist the temptation. This building is Immanuel Lutheran Church. That congregation celebrated 140 years in 2014 and according to their historian had the first Lutheran parish hall in Texas. This one is not their original building, but it is the one they built after their first red brick building was destroyed in a fire in the 1920's. They built this building the next year.
