7 Spot Ladybird

I can't look at a ladybird without thinking of the swarm of them I saw as a child growing up in Norfolk in 1976 . Millions of them descended on us at the beach in Wells-Next-To Sea . Apparently it was caused by a combination of the hot weather and an excess of their favourite food , the aphid .
