Pasture

Over the last week or so, some workmen have been putting astroturf on top of a couple of brick/concrete raised areas in the university's courtyard/quad. We all thought it was a completely daft idea at first, but actually, having the green colour in an otherwise very uninspiring space does work.

It gave me an idea. I thought it was about time that my cows, which you will all also remember from the nativity scene, had a trip out, so this lunchtime, Lynne and I took them off to their summer pasture. They had a lovely time, and a few strange looks (one student was stunned into silence when she asked where we worked and we said the library - not meeting her expectations of a librarian, obviously!), but after a bit of munching on the astroturf, I took them back inside in the warmth.

Crazy, but fun!
