Downtown LA...

After the birthday frivolities today was a proper tourist day.  We drove down into downtown LA for a wee look around.  We parked the went for food at the grand central market which is a massive indoor food vendor market catering to all sorts of tastes and right across from the Angels Flight funicular railway which I geeked out a bit as it's in a scene in Bosch.

A great day with loads to see, (additional photos) and stupendously interesting.

We then headed to the location of this main photo.  We travelled in a lift in this hotel which upon it's roof is a small and not too busy swimming pool.  Not quite as high as some of the other sky scrapers in the city but still odd enough to keep saying to yourself, "I'm on top of a building in midtown LA!, Eh?"

I did the drive back and it was back to celebratory catch up oiled with a dash of buck.
