¡Buen viaje!

Ben and Sophia are on the plane to Mexico and then eventually to the rest of South America.  It's been an odd couple of days in the Paterson house, rather more subdued and separate than I would have wished for.  Sophia's parents, Deborah and Jim picked him up at 11.30am to drive them to the airport.  There may have been some tears...

But I'm exited and happy for Ben.  He's had to cope with a series of disappointments preventing him seeing the world in the last 2 years, all recorded on blip!

November 19 - expulsion from CUHK University Campus because of the Hong Kong riots 

December 19 - arrival back home

January 20 - application hassle for Seoul university accommodation (as a replacement for Hong Kong) in South Korea

February 20 - his application for a place and accommodation finally confirmed at Seoul university in Korea

March 20 - South Korean University announces 1st semester will be online  due to Covid (& later that 70% of it would be)

March 20 - After much procrastination University of Leeds  decided that Ben cannot fly to Seoul

...So, that was that and as we know there followed another 2 years of lockdown and no travel anywhere.

So he deserves for this to be great!  We couldn't be happier that he is going with Sophia who is wonderful.  Wishing you both a great adventure and I hope to live it vicariously with you through news and pictures....
