What is it?

We have a small patch of raised ground in our playground which at the moment has a selection of spring flowers appearing I was standing with one of the children and she was asking me what the flowered were she spotted this crocus which had yet to open ' Look that one looks like a fingernail' I looked and I had to agree with her.
