The bells chimed for Ukraine

From 17.15-17.30 hrs. the church bells in Delft chimed for Ukraine and some people stood still.

I'd arrived walking into Delft when I heard the sinister bas sound of the Don Jonne bell chiming over the city. It's the bell of the St. John church that is chimed only when a royal has its funeral service there and now it chimed seemingly endless... why?!  

Later on I learned that the churches of Delft and elsewhere in the Netherlands chimed their bells at  this hour for Ukraine what suffers deeply from Putin's war against the people of that country.
Because the Don Jonne chimes only when we mourn, we were alarmed; i spoke with three ladies, who stood like this man with their handies and they told me they did not find news on more alarming developments there then... that we thought of as a relief.
