Off the beaten track

I went out in the car this afternoon especially to blip some daffodils at a cross roads not far away. They are usually a blaze of colour in March so I felt sure I would get a good shot. But they are still not in flower! I shall have to go back next week.

So I took the car down unknown lanes and discovered this little row of cottages, off the beaten track. It must have been an idyllic spot until thirty years ago when the M25 was built within less than a mile and the constant roar of traffic spoils the peace.

I left home at 9.30 am this morning and I had to have my headlights on because of the mist and the gloom. It was just like November.
