Early Sprouting Purple Broccoli

I was pleased to see the early sprouting purple broccoli at the allotment have just started to fruit on two of the four plants.  I look forward to harvesting that very soon!  

In the evening we were back to The Traverse for the fabulous play "The Gardener".  A poignant story told with gentle humour by 74 year old Frank who has moved to a retirement home and is missing his garden. It's the story of love and loss through the metaphor of gardening.  The terrific Nicola Roy plays a great supporting role with her usual comic timing.
