Solidarity

I wanted to participate in today’s “challenge” showing my support for Ukraine • My doves are symbols of peace but it’s fitting that they’re also mourning doves as I believe we are all mourning the invasion of this sovereign democratic country • My heart weighs heavy for its people; for all those escaping their homes seeking safety in other countries; the ill, elderly and children; for President Zelensky and all of the other leaders of the country; the men aged 18 to 60 forced to defend their homeland • I think about the people of Russia who are also victims of this invasion and will suffer for it • The kindness and generosity of so many neighboring countries welcoming and assisting Ukranians and others fleeing their home is overwhelming. They too need our support and generosity • It’s a far reaching crisis demanding global unity and solidarity. May peace prevail • Thank You, Miranda!
