Thoughts for today

I’m grateful to Miranda1008 for initiating this blip day in support of Ukraine and to Ingeborg for hosting abstract Thursday.
I posted a Ukraine blip on 28th February, and I will tag that, but I wanted to give my support to today
Much has been said about the horror of what is going on in Ukraine, the sense of atrocity and the need to actively support and I subscribe to that. Without taking away from that though I believe we have to hold hope for better days to come and what I hope this blip expresses is that even in dark times we can hold on to pin points of light, the outpouring of support, the courage of those in Ukraine and the will and the prayers for peace. This is not intended to be an exhaustive list.
I watched last night on iPlayer Mission: Joy (nudged twice - once by Maureen6002, once elsewhere), a dialogue between Nobel Peace Prize winners thé Dalaï Lama - who escaped from the invading Chinese army as a young man and Archbishop Desmond Tutu, who became the face of non violent resistance against the apartheid regime. Acknowledging a world of trauma and suffering, they live by the principle of giving joy to receive it with an optimism, hope and a love of life that is a joy to see. That feels important in these troubled times
I value blip as a platform where members post artistic joyous and beautiful things, there is much which is meaningful and expansive, and sadnesses shared are responded to sensitively and people are generous and kind. What am I trying to say here? I’m feeling grateful for this community - for it’s humanity - for it’s gifts
