C21st Learning
Today's agenda included attending a colleague's presentation to a group of students who at one point were required to use their lap tops in order to complete an online survey - then they discussed the instantly available and processed results. This was followed by a whole department meet for a book cull in the library as part of the school's decision to make some space for learning C21st style, by getting rid of obsolete tomes. A school library should, after all, be a living-learning centre, not a museum, and some of the books we culled today had not been checked out for more than ten years. It was still a bit painful though.
There are rumours amongst the students that the library space is going to be taken over by Cafe Nero.
