Japanese Garden at Tatton Park

A wonderful day out with one of my greatest friends. As the forecast was for rain, we headed for Tatton Park (about half way between our homes) because there were plenty of places to shelter, and we could also go round the house.

It was overcast and dull (but not as chilly) when we arrived so we decided to make the most of the dry time. For obvious reasons, there is not as much Spring colour as usual, but I loved the tones in the Japanese Garden. Although not as flashy as the deep red of the acers in the autumn, the lines and reflections stood out with a particular quality which I tried, and tried to capture.

The Victorian Gallopers were in great demand

Tete a tetes were out in force

One or two rhododendrons were braving it

These two were waiting patiently

And this gentle deer was watching from the Home Farm
