Siskins
It was lovely to see the sunshine this morning, such a change from the wet and grey of recent days.
I went for a walk along the canal from Queen's Head and into the two reserves. The top one was so muddy that I didn't get far but at the new one there was an accessable trail constructed since I was there last. The new hide is now finished although not open and there are the beginnings of a second being built. There was nothing around though, not even a duck on the water.
As I was walking back I saw a flock of siskins feeding on an alder tree. I don't get them in the garden so was pleased to spot these. I couldn't decide which photo to use so have made a collage. The males are yellow and the females much duller.
