Yewbarrow

Another Wainwright but we had intended to walk up two. Yewbarrow is pretty steep with some scrambly bits with no room  for mistakes. The way down and over to RedPike gives two options. Lethally steep and dangerous ( for we old fogeys) or a lot easier and farther down and a long way up. So we abandoned the plan to climb Red Pike and cut our walk a bit shorter. It was still quite hard work and tiring. Views from the steep side of Yewbarrow looking down towards Wastwater were spectacular. The same lake as Sunday but more of an overall view down the whole length. One of my favourite lakes, wild and isolated.
Now completed 202/214. Twelve to go but that’s it for this week.
