Balvenie and Speyside

On the eve of his 50th, we headed up to Speyside to stay over but first a visit to Balvenie Distillery for a tour. With just the two of us and the guide it ended up in a lengthy tasting session of 9 drams on an empty stomach.   Offt, merry red cheeks all round. We had had our fill of whisky after the tour took us to a few more distilleries so were glad to be dropped off at the Craigallechie hotel to chill out, eat and have a drink - anything but whisky through....and stay over in spectacular speyside.
