The thin edge of the wedge?
Yesterday, I thought that the strange new Blipfoto sign in page was simply because I was using my husband's laptop, not having been able to download any photos from my PC for a few days due to our household electrical problems. Turns out, there have actually been some changes.
I've read the new home page blurb, read all the forums and the comments on Facebook but I'm still none the wiser as to what it all really means. I definitely don't like it, though. Still undecided about the new slogan (I don't like it but then that's a bit hypocritical of me as I only started blipping when I had a serious illness so Blipfoto did, to some extent, save my life - or at least my sanity! - in the most literal sense, a fact I have often mentioned on here).
Although I have no doubt about the integrity and good intentions of all at Blipcentral, I still can't help feeling this is definitely the thin edge of the wedge. I don't blip because I want everyone I know to gush over my life by linking this to every possible other social network but I do know that a lot of friends and family like to look at my mostly-load-of-old-nonsense in here and I feel very uncomfortable with the thought that they will need to sign up in order to continue to do so.
I have logged my 'protest' here, if anyone else wants to do the same.
PS. Many thanks to Loraine at our local community centre for the use of the wedge (although she probably won't be able to see this).
