Dog watering station

Hubby went sailing today and I visited a friend to look at her photos of the Abel Tasman Walk, which we’re doing next month. She also passed on tips and helpful information.

Later in the day I hopped on a bus into the city to meet hubby and an America’s Cup volunteer friend and the three of us spent a pleasant few hours chatting and enjoying a beverage or two accompanied, of course, by a bowl of fries.  We had hoped to visit the Whitestone Cheese “Bar”, but it was closed over the weekend because of staff and stock shortages.  Very sad.

We walked past the pop up library again and this time popped our heads in for a look.  Our friend said it had been there for quite a long time.  Anyone can visit, select a book and sit and read it, or take it away to read, and even leave books that you no longer want, so others can read them.  Apparently the Council was going to close it down, but the community objected, so it’s still there.

We had drinks at Good George (Brewing) and as we left to move to pastures new I saw the dog watering station.  What a clever way to cater for both small and large dogs.

There are 18,833 new community cases today, with 597 people in hospital, including 10 people who need intensive care.  The Ministry has also reported the deaths of five people with the coronavirus.
