To the Manor Born...
Backblipped
My pal LeeAnne is house-sitting for one of her clients while they are taking a well earned break, and it's not just any old house, but the beautiful Netherbyres House (it has a very interesting history) A stunning wedding venue.
We were delighted to be able to pop down and keep her company for the day and in return we got to spend time not only with her, but in the stunning surroundings of this amazing old house!
We arrived and had a mini tour of the downstairs. Our jaws dropped in every room. The decor is amazing. What vision the owners have. Such a daunting task taking on a huge place like this, but they clearly knew what they wanted to do with it and have made it so.
We had lunch in the bar followed by coffee and cream cakes, then LeeAnne gave David the grand tour of upstairs and the enormous basement. There is a lift but we weren't sure when it was last used and didn't want to risk getting stuck (which would be just my luck lol!) so I stayed on the ground floor listening to records (yes a record played and real vinyl. Such a treat! :-)
We decided that since we were by the coast we would have fish suppers for dinner, so sent David out to hunt for those whilst LeeAnne and I enjoyed a wee G&T. David phoned to say both chip shops were shut! Eh? It was a little after 7pm! Oh well, pizza from the Co-op it had to be.
Thanks for having us LeeAnne, such a lovely day. If were were getting married again we would definitely choose Netherbyres. It's so cool! :-))
