Butterfly day
I was lucky enough to capture three butterfly species out and about today. I liked this capture of Red-base Jezebels (Delias pasithoe) best: they are covering the flowers on this shrub down the road. But I’m also pleased with my zoom of a Paris Peacock (Papilio paris) (Extra), a large, black Swallowtail with a flash of iridescent green. I’ve been trying to capture that for years.
Finally (other extra) is the Large Faun (Faunis eumeus). I waited until it opened its wings to display its orange and brown splendour. Truly the Awakening of Insects has started.
