Non-Architecture

Drove Triinu to Tampere again for a medical examination and walked the nearby streets in the meanwhile. Came across this empty site, where the old house was demolished in 2018 because of mold damage. It was so severe that there was no alternative, despite the house being from pre-war era and having some historical importance, having survived the Winter War bombings unlike many neighbouring houses, and having a special place in the history of Finnish rock music. Musician Harri Rinne lived there in the 70's and it has been said that he and his band mates Mikko Alatalo and Juice Leskinen wrote some of their first songs there.

I wondered how the site is still empty, but it seems to be in planning stage, with advance marketing starting next month. The flats will hardly be cheap with a location this good. Relatively quiet side streets, but just 150 metres from the nearest mall, 200 metres from the main street and 300 metres from both the railway station and the bus station.
