The Gate

We have returned the world of the Internet.  It's not until you find yourself without phone signal or internet access that you realise just how much you depend on both.  For the last four days we have had neither (or at least, so weak and intermittent as to be practically useless).  We did have television at our cottage, so we were able to keep up to date with the depressing news from Ukraine, but although a few emails and WhatsApp messages managed to get through, we generally felt quite cut off from the rest of the world.  I didn't realise that some of the apps on my phone, which I had been hoping to use, don't work without internet access.

Anyway, it was a lovely break on the South Wales coast, and we were very fortunate with the weather.  I have back-blipped last Friday's journal entry, and will catch up with the other days in the next couple of days.

Today's blip is a gate at the back of the lighthouse cottage where we stayed. The style of gate and the whitewashed walls reminded me of similar scenes in Santorini, although we lacked the sunshine this morning that we would have expected in Greece.
