Peachy (or Nectariney)
Sometimes things don't get broken down in the compost heap. Some seeds are resistant even to the acids in human and animal digestive systems; others are too big and well-protected they rarely get eaten and are tough enough to survive intact through composting, then sprout when conditions are right. This peach or nectarine nut took a couple of years to eventually sprout in amongst the broadbeans. We have potted it up, and no doubt it will grow into a sapling which we will then not know what to do with, having no space for a fruit of unknown provinance.
