The trip to Orkney
My Dad had some business in Orkney so I tagged along and we took the Gills bay ferry over last night. I spent the morning in Kirkwall whilst my Dad was working, walking around St. Magnus cathedral and it's visitor centre. At lunchtime we drove to Skara Brae to see the prehistoric village and the bay of Skaill. The bay where all the whales were washed up during the Neolithic times and where this picture was taken. In the afternoon we saw the ring of Brogar, the stones of Stenness, an art centre in Stromness, the highland park distillery and crashed a wedding at the Italian chapel. All before catching the 5 'o'clock ferry ack home.
